ART² ("Art-Squared")
In collaboration with the Salvation Army, In The Orchard will engage local communities and professional artists in making art while utilizing items that are consistently and abundantly being donated to the Salvation Army - such as clothing, furniture and jewelry. Throughout the creative process, participants will not only be encouraged to reflect on the environmental, economic and social impact that these items have, but also on how such items can be transformed into art. This program demonstrated that over-consumption is a social problem that affects the world, as well as our local Niagara community while simultaneously emphasizing the tangible methods to reduce, reuse and recycle in an aesthetic manner.
