Art Camp In The Orchard's art camps provide a way for youth aged 4-13 to spend their holiday breaks out of school in an open and artistic environment that promotes active learning, exploration, creation and fun. In The Orchard offers two Art Camps over the course of the year: a March Break art camp, and a Summer Break Art Camp. At the 2011 March Break Art Camp, students were given the opportunity to participate in our The Beatles themed Art Camp that focused on art with purpose. The camp was instructed by qualified artists recognized by the Niagara District School Board, Art Professionals and Practicing Artists. The camp took place at Glynn A. Green Elementary School daily from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. Lesson-plans included a variety of learning strategies as well as incorporated the current Ontario Visual Arts Curriculum in a fun and inspiring manner. During the March Break Art Camp, students were also provided the opportunity to use both creative and traditional art mediums including: masonite, old records and X-Box 360 projectors. Camp lessons will also cover Drama or Music in each session in order to provide students with an opportunity to experience different creative outlets. During the 2011 Summer Art Camp, the 8-week camp featured such themes as Glee Week, Sculpture Week, Paint Big, Zombies, Movie week and more. The camp was held at two locations - firstly being at our studio in Fonthill, and then at Glynn A. Green in Welland.
